30 Days, 30 Paintings kChallenge, Painting number 21

We had  a lovely spring like day in Charlotte on Tuesday, and I went out with my painting friends for some much needed plein air painting.  Waxhaw, named after Waxhaw Indians, is a  small town south of Charlotte, which a one time was filled with antique shops.  Most of the antique stores have disappeared, but Waxhaw still retains a charming vibe.

Yesterday's painting was inadvertently left at friends studio before I took a photo.  The challenge ends today, and I have no painting for today.  So I did 22 paintings in all, none on the weekends this time, instead of 30.  I'm disappointed in myself for not meeting the challenge requirements, but still had fun doing what I did.

Starting next week, I plan to concentrate on larger paintings for a while, although I may do some small ones to warm up the old painting fingers!

30 Days, 30 Paintings Challenge

Well, guess who is a little behind!  I do have one from yesterday, but
it's too dark for a good photo.

Here's one I started today.  It's quite large--24x36, I believe, so I didn't finish
it, but hope to by Friday.

I am especially working on having a variety of edges--broken, hard, soft, and disappearing.

Well, here are the latest paintings and I am quite displeased with
them.  Somehow when my computer was "fixed" I lost my ability to
edit (fix command) my photos....so these pauintings
are not exactly representive of the real thing.

I think I just need to buy a new laptop every 3 years!

I can now upload paintings!  Yea!  However, it's a different process and it
took a while to  figure it out.

I labeled this day 10 because I have lost track of which painting was
painted when.  I'll try to get all the others on next week.

Right now I have to go paint!!

Library Computer

I am in the library using a computer because mine is being "fixed."  I may be able to pick it up tomorrow afternoon, and if so I'll post all the 30 days, 30 Paintings up to date.  Connie

30 Days, 30 Paintings, painting number 3

My computer will still not upload photos, although I have spent several tedious and stressful hours doing all the things "help" tells me to.  I am now looking for a laptop "fixer."

My third painting is a farm in Union County, NC.  You can view it on Daily Paintworks.

30 days, 30 paintings, second painting

I cheated a wee bit on this one.  I began this painting before Christmas, but it just wasn't working, so I scraped it down.  However, I loved the colors and thought I could rescue it.

Cuties are tiny, little mandarins from California.  They are so sweet, seedless, easy to peel, and, of course, cute.

Well, it seems that I cannot upload the Cuties painting.  As soon as I can figure it out, I'll post.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

30 paintings, 30 days--first painting

So begins my 30 days of producing a painting each day as challenged by master painter, Leslie Saeta.  I gave some thought as to how I would proceed with this.  At first I decided to choose a theme and represent it in 30 ways.  I rejected the idea for now, but will save it for another time.  I've chosen to just paint as I always do--just letting the day and mood decide on the subject and the treatment of the subject.

30 Days, 30 Paintings!

My company has left, and I was a sad to see them go.  We did have a wonderful holiday.

But now that things are back to normal, my thoughts have, of course, turned to painting!  I have joined Leslie Saeta's challenge to paint a painting every day for 30 days.  There are already over 200 participants.  Today I will straighten up the studio and pick out 5 to 10 photos to work from, also set up some still lifes.

If you would like to read about the challenge on Leslie's blog and see the participants, click on this link:   http://www.lesliesaeta.blogspot.com/2012/12/thirty-paintings-in-thirty-days.html?m=1

We start tomorrow!
