I am leaving today for a painting workshop. What? Another? you ask. What can I say? I'm a glutton for instruction. I'll be back on Sunday and will be posting on Monday. so please check back.
Several years ago I spent a summer in Italy, painting. It was a wonderful experience, and it got me painting again. This painting is from a photo I took that summer....cannot remember where I was.
I am shopping for new brushes. They all seem great when I buy them, but quickly decline. I like a filbert with a knife like edge for making thin lines. Do any of you artists out there have some recommendations?
The Dee Beard Dean workshop was outstanding. It was just a delight to watch her choose a location, mix colors, and paint. She could take the most unpromising scene and make a wonderful painting. It was a productive time for me--I painted 7 paintings. The painting above was painted on the 3rd day.
