Kezar Lake, Lovell,Maine (sold)

5x7, oil on canvas panel
Kezar Lake was described by National Geographic as "one of the three most beautiful lakes in the world." Nine miles long, one side faces the White Mountains in New Hampshire. I took a boat ride with friends who pointed out Stephen King's home, barely visible for the trees and high above the lake. It is said he can often be seen strolling around Lovell.
This is a small painting, but I think it manages to show quite a bit of space.

Steve, you are so right. I changed the spelling--thanks for the correction. Connie

Well, this is a nice painting but I don't know as I would call this one of the prettiest lakes in the world. That is a grand statement. You should paint them all so we can vote.

I kie the Lake Lovell or Lake Kazar in Lovell, because it reminds me of summers at Camp Wayaka someplace in Maine. The lake is fed by the waters that run down from the mountains, so even in summer, it was cold. At ten, I was hot to get my swimming badge, and the counselors threw us out of the canoe, so you have to swim. I loved the camp, but I hated the hike up the mountain, and even the promise of S'mores at the end did not mollify the hike. "Can we stop? I need water. Can I have a snack?" And, they only let me have 1 S'more after I hiked 20 miles, or so it seemed.
