Cottage Dresser, Nimrod Hall, Virginia (sold)

When I had my first (and only) semester of painting in college, we used a brush.  I loved it.  I loved that feeling of picking up paint and depositing it on the stretched canvas with a springy brush.  To me, it just didn't get any better!

Fast forward a bunch of years, and I still love painting with a brush.

But the last 2 or 3 years I have been experimenting with the palette knife as I
delve into a slightly more contemporary look.

This painting was painted completely with a palette knife except for a simple block in.  I love how the colors sing!

I love your use of color. The use of your palate knife took it from ordinary to fabulous. Your composition is extremely successful!
