Yes, there really is a road to Possum Corner, mostly unpaved and absolutely beautiful! I could not get the yellow-green color to adjust correctly for my monitor, but I assure you it is not the horrible, stand alone color it appears.

Working Man (sold)

This is a present for my grandson. Ethan, age 4, is a devotee of Bob the Builder, Wendy, and the construction machines they use. (If you don't know about Bob the Builder, ask any pre-schooler.) I thought this would capture his interest now, and I hope he will continue to enjoy it as he grows up.

Farmhouse, Fairview, NC (sold)

This scene is from a working farm close to Asheville, NC. One family has owned it for several generations. When I visit I feel as if I've gone back in time when most of the US was rural and most of the people were farmers. All the grandchildren come here to ride horses.

This scene had all the neccessities for plein air painting. 1. good directional light

2. compositional possiblities and 3. a place to park and set up-- That last one is killer hard to find!

Cedar Tree and Limestone (sold)

Another scene from Mississippi. The white looking "dirt" is limestone. I have been told that Mississippi was once under a shallow sea. The sea animals including microbes made the limestone in which cedar trees thrive.

The Water Tower

This is another plein air I painted while on my Mississippi trip. I believe this was in Crawford, MS, but I'm not sure. They tend to run together after a while, and I did not take notes. It has the dappled light that I love with the added bonus of the water tower shape--it doesn't get any better than that!

I found this light drenched scene in Macon, Mississippi. I was quite disappointed in the painting trip because it had rained for several days. Then the sky cleared and all was well! Most of my Mississippi paintings need a little touch up, and then I'll post. I took around 200 photos for future reference. All in all, it was a great and successful trip.
